APRIL 2010

Happy belated New Years to all my friends and family. I am sorry its taken so long to update my news on my website. Life has been quite crazy these past few months due to family and work priorities. My Grandmother on my Mothers side suffered a masive stroke and was left paralyzed on half of her body. My Mother flew down to Oklahoma to take care of her and her estate there. She just was able to get her into a care facility here in Houston a few months ago. My Grandmother is getting better almost every day with feeling slowly returning to her body. I try and take my son Luke to see his great Grandma as many times as I can.

In band news, I've been rockin steadily with the Elroys 3-4 nights a week all around H-town. If you get a chance to come see us I think you'll find our mix of music and comedy very entertaining. We recently started work on our website and hope to have it up and going in a few months. You can get show information by visting us at www.theelroysrock.com. We also started adding new material and added a good friend of mine Mr. Jeff Baniak on drums. If the name sounds familiar its because Jeff and I used to jam in Superfix together with Mike and RJ. So after reuniting this awesome rhythm section we have no doubt that this is going to be an awesome year for the band.

There has been a few new additions to the website recently as you can see. I've removed the songs page and replaced it with an online gaming page. Currently there is not much information on that page, bu I hope to start adding more very soon. I would like to dedicate this section of my site to a fallen brother and fellow gamer that lost his life. Jack Death as we all knew him or Robert to his close friends was a great friend and awesome gaming buddy. We had started our own gaming clan together back in early 2009 called Death's Slayers which will continue on as a tribute to him for a very long time. We all knew Jack loved his drink so we hope he is in Heaven enjoying a rum and coke and chasing some cute angels.

DECEMBER 2009

Merry Christmas to all and I hope your season has been full of health, happiness and great joy. As you spend time with your loved ones keep in mind those brave soliders over in Iraq protecting our freedom. I can't even begin to thank them for all that they do for us. Please keep them all in your prayers that they stay safe and return home soon.

A lot has happen in 2009, some things good and some things not so good. We have elected another president (blah) and seen the death of many cherished actors and icons. I helped form an awesome band (Westside Drive) to only watch it crumble and die off before the year ended. Just as it did come to an end I found myself being taken in by another group of exceptional musicians called The Elroys. I must say, in the few weeks I have been their bassist I have had the most enjoyable gigs of this whole year. I have learned that things happen for a reason and you should not stress so much that it makes you ill. Don't get me wrong... fight for what you believe in and stay true to your beliefs and self, but don't be closed minded to other options that may arise. I guess what I've learned this year is to let up on the reigns a bit and relax. I want to wish my band members in Westside Drive good luck in their endeavors this coming year and hope they find another great band.

I have added a number of new photo galleries this year so please feel free to check them out. Also, here is my new band's myspace page: The Elroys. Be sure to check our schedule and find out when and where we play next. Come out and have some drinks and a good time with us, you won't be disappointed.

APRIL 2009

Thank you for taking intrest in this site. DMinorTrip.com is about to celebrate its 5th year on the web. I hope my family and friends have enjoyed visiting it sharing in my life. My son, Luke, just turned 6 months old and is changing before our eyes. He now laughs a lot, sleeps through the night, recognizes family members and is developing his hand and eye coordination. There are now 3 pages of videos on the site. I have posted some videos of Luke on page 3 for you to enjoy.

I finally broke down and joined Facebook due to the fact that a lot of my friends have switched over to it. I do agree with people who say Facebook is "the adult version of Myspace." I am still getting used to using it so please be paitent with me if I don't get back to you or accept a request in a timely manner. I still check my myspace regularly so until I get facebook completely figured out that is the best way other than e-mail to reach me. You can add me as a friend if you already haven't... Here is the link: DMinorTrip's Facebook page.

In Westside Drive news... We are truckin' along trying to fill up our calendar for the rest of the year, learning new songs and establishing ourselves in the Houston music scene. We recently filmed a live performance. You can view 3 collage videos on page 1 of our media pages. We also have live audio files available on our myspace page, which you can access by clicking on this link WSD Myspace or by clicking on the navigation button above that says Westside. Both links will take you to the same place. Once again, thanks for visiting DMinorTrip.com and I hope you found it informative and easy to navigate. :)

JANUARY 2009

DMinorTrip.com would like to wish all who visits this site a happy new year a hopes everyone stays healthy and happy through out 2009. This month's front page adorns the faces of my new a present band Westside Drive who have been tearing up the Houston music scene and sure to catch some attention this year. As some of you know we basically took the back bone of SuperFix my last project and added new vocalist and my brother-in-law Kelly Carpenter. This change has made a great impact on not only the energy of the band but its diversity of music. Westside drive has added 20+ new songs to its existing set list from bands such as: the Police, Maroon 5, Led Zepplin, Doobie Brothers, John Cougar, Journey and many others. After only 8 gigs under their belt most people would swear they have already been together for years and are shocked to hear the contrary. To find out their next live performance please visit myspace.com/wsidedrive. Live videos and audio to follow in the next few months so be sure to check back here for more news and updates.

MERRY CHRISTMAS '08

Dearest Friends and Family

I hope this letter finds you doing well. 2008 has been an exciting year for us. Luke arrived October 7th and we have been exhausted since! Luke is 8 weeks old today. It is hard to believe we have had him this long already. He’s so amazing! He is getting stronger and stronger with his head each day. He can almost hold it up by himself. He started smiling at us about 2 weeks ago and tracks us with his eyes. On the eve of Thanksgiving, Luke slept 7 straight hours – our first all night sleep! I was so tired I never stirred and when he cried at 7am, I was excited for him. Sleeping through the night came at the perfect time. I went back to work on December 1st after 7 ½ weeks of maternity leave. Bedtime is 10:30 – 11:30pm and he wakes between 5:30 – 7am. This follows the two weeks of midnight-6 or 7am sleeping with one feeding in the middle somewhere. I have been reading “On Becoming Baby Wise” which has made a world of difference for me. I didn’t want to let Luke cry in the beginning and the book has helped me get over that, in addition to teaching me how to set up a feeding and sleeping schedule that got us to this wonderful “sleeping through the night” stage!

I slowly started leaving Luke at home with James for a few hours at a time to get myself used to being away from him. Luke has also spent some time with the grandparents while we ran errands, went to the grocery store and even for a little Black Friday shopping! My first day back to work, I only called home at lunch to see how things were going. James was holding down the fort, although he was a bit perturbed with the morning diaper change. The story relayed to me had me giggling. Luke made a mess in his pants and James has avoided #2 diapers like the plague up to this point. James pulled the diaper off and placed it at the end of the changing table while he proceeded to clean Luke’s skin. Luke got a little fussy and began kicking his legs and put his feet right in the dirty diaper and got poo all over his feet. Now James not only has to clean a dirty behind but dirty feet as well. After using 1/3 of the wipes in the wipe warmer, the smell was still lingering on Luke’s feet, so James pulled out the baby wash and washed his feet in the bathroom. Ahhh… the sweet justice. That’s what he gets for handing Luke back to me every time there was a dirty diaper! ( Today, when I arrived home, Luke gave me the biggest smiles and was so happy to see me. It melted me and left my heart feeling so full of joy and indescribable love. James is really great with Luke. Its so sweet to see this big guy be such a softie for the little man. James has been a tremendous help through my time at home with Luke and I am confident staying home with Daddy instead of day care is the best place in the world for Luke!   James and I are so blessed to have Luke. We’ve enjoyed watching him grow and develop. We’ve learned more about ourselves in the process of learning how to care for Luke. We’ve learned that we can still function on an hour of sleep, make bottles and change diapers in the dark, differentiate cries, do pretty much everything with one hand and finally, we have learned that it takes twice as long to get ready to go anywhere and you take twice as much stuff with you when you have a kid!

Merry Christmas from our family to you! We wish you all the best in 2009!
~James and Michelle~

OCTOBER 2008
Well October is not only my favorite month because of Halloween anymore. On October 7th at 5:29pm my son was born at the Women's Hospital downtown. Luke Alexander Langenbuch weighed 8lbs 11.2 onces and measured 20 inches long. It was very exciting and wonderful to see a life being brought into this world and taking his first breath. It was even more incredible that I was witnessing the birth of my very own child. Life as Michelle and I know it has completely changed and we are adjusting to parenthood quite well I think. To see photos of this awesome event and the surrounding days please feel free to take a look at my updated photo galleries. Page 19 and Page 20 are all the photos so far but I am sure more are to come very soon.

Band News: After alot of thought and deliberation Mike Nedd, James S. and myself have decided to part ways with our current vocalist and friend in SuperFix and will be starting our new project in 2009. SuperFix will of course continue on rockin Houston but will be replacing its Drummer, bass player and guitarist as of January 1st 2009. The new project called "Westside Drive" can be found on myspace at: www.myspace.com/wsidedrive and will feature long time friend and vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter. Kelly has been singing professionally for 20+ years and has toured the US, Europe and Japan with numorous national bands. Some of the new material will include Led Zepplin, Journey, Boston and the Police just to name a few. Be sure to check the myspace page regularly to find out where WSD will be playing near you.

Thanks to Niki and Studio 88 there is an awesome gallery addition featuring photos of SuperFix live all around town. Be sure to check out their website and their professional photography they offer for any occassion. Photo Page 21 of my photo gallery features some of my favorite photos taken by Niki a good friend of ours. We love our darling Niki :)

JANUARY 2008
Well 2007 has come and gone and a new year is ahead of us. I have much to reflect upon about 2007 and the changes that happened in my life. First, I met someone very special who has totally rocked my world and has shown me love and how to love. In fact recently found out that the two of us will become the three of us in early October.

I said goodbye to an old band and welcomed in a new one. I wish I could quote Mr. Bon Jovi and Say "I've seen a million faces and rocked them all" but let's face it, I play in a cover band. However, playing in a cover band, especially my current one, has allowed me to jam with some excellent musicians in the last year.

I've added to my DVD collection and went to see a few good movies and a lot of real stinkers over the past year. I traded in my big ass truck (Dodge Ram 1500) for a smaller, more equipment friendly Dodge Durango.

Well, I guess that sums up at least a little of 2007. I will leave it at that and hopefully post some things about 2008 very soon.
